Argentinean Santos Resiak makes his vinyl debut for Immigrant with this Even Better EP – having established himself firmly as one of Europe’s most promising young techno artists, he’s recently released on Gluckskind Schallplatten and Someone Else’s Unfoundsound label. This EP is truly massive – you’ll find four dancefloor tracks full of groove, playfulness and intensity, backed up by the UK’s current most talked about young producer, Burnski, providing two sophisticated remix; top stuff once again from the Immigrant stable.
A1 – La Atencion (Original Mix) A real weapon of a track, La Atencion pulls many punches with more percussive groove and a funk filled bassline that couldn’t fail to appeal to even the most lacklustre of crowds. Reverbed vocals create atmosphere and fill out space in the speakers, whilst another breakdown builds intensity with the use of white noise and delayed keys - truly bound to whip up a fervour.
A2 – Even Better (Original Mix) Even Better kicks off the EP, showcasing Santos’ typically percussive sound, underpinned by a pleasing funky baseline. Quirky, offbeat synth stabs are treated with bags of delay, and an ever building intensity notches its way up and up via white noise over an almost latino set-up, whilst the vocal and cowbells allow the track to retain a fun factor.
B1 – La Atencion (Burnski Doors Of Perception Remix) In contrast, Burnski gives La Atencion a more techno edge, harking back to Detroit with big stabs and a relentlessly bouncing baseline switching in and out. This version has techy drums, quick shuffling hi-hats, and minimises use of the vocal. It’s darker, and very constant.
Digital Bonus – La Atencion (Burnski Lost Soul Dub) Yes Burnski, what a hero. After the techno bomb of a remix, Burnski supplies his more traditional quirky rolling trademark sound for the remix of ‘Even Better’. With instant funk throughout the groove, slick hats and trippy late night rhythms flying all over the place, perfect for any floor. We are really treating you all to this digital bonus.
