Great piece of sci-fi techno right here. My money's worth is found in both versions of the title track. The original is a back to basics effort dominated by the corrugated feeling of the flanged sequence that pummels proceedings forward in cahoots with some haywire 909 hats. Lost in the shuffled rhythms, echo and bass pressure, are some trippy screeches sneaking into the loop some four minutes deep. From that point on it's space and rust laid over the same beat programming, and the results are as good as you'd want from that combo.
Oscar Mulero's remix shines bright and tight. It strips some of the toughness away from the original, focusing more on the spherical structure of the music. Letting the frantic sequence occupy more space, develop, it really comes fully to life after the effective break down, when it kicks back in with a dive from outer space. From that moment on you have one of those leave-you-star-struck on the floor moments, where heavily reverbed sound design echoes in and of the loop, descending and rising back up, aided by tiny acidic outbursts.
Two great players taking on the same track. Circinus, the B2 tune, is not bad, but seriously not a patch on the extraterrestrial nastiness that J. Kopp and O. Mulero pull off here.
